Friday night's "Black Panther" movie premiere felt like a real-life Hollywood debut for some kids in Schenectady.

Kids and their parents lined up at the Bow Tie Cinemas, where you didn't need money or any celebrity status to walk the red carpet. All you needed was your report card.

The event even had some paparazzi offering to take kids' photos as they strolled toward their seats.

"Save Our Streets" partnered with some other local youth groups to make the event happen. They say the movie will be empowering for many of the teens who showed up Friday night.

"Seeing somebody that embodies something that's a resemblance of you lets them know that they can do anything," said Shawnta Rivas, a Save Our Streets co-founder.

More than 270 kids and their families got to see the movie Friday night.
