A missing Whiteface Mountain skier was found on the other side of the country after a six-day search. Now state police are trying to figure out how Constantinos "Danny" Filippidis ended up in California.

Filippidis was at Whiteface Mountain for an annual ski trip with his colleagues. He was reported missing last week on Wednesday.

Crews searched the mountain until Tuesday afternoon, when Fillipidis called his wife from Sacramento, Calif. He told police in California that he believes he hit his head and doesn't remember the last six days.

Fillipidis says he was dropped off by a truck driver, but doesn't remember much else about his cross-country trip.

Fillipidis is on his way back to New York, where state police will interview him. They are looking for anyone who may have seen Filippidis over the last six days to contact them.
