Another candidate has stepped forward hoping to become the next Chemung County Executive.

Tom Santulli plans to retire at the end of his term.

Chemung County Legislator and small business owner Ken Miller officially entered the race Saturday night.

He made his announcement at the American Legion in Horseheads.

Miller spoke on a number of issues including crime and jobs.

He said he would lure more businesses to the area using I-86 to his advantage.

He believes it's critical to have a good relationship between the county and the municipalities.

"There is no question that we can have good relationships with all our municipalities by simply having conversations with each other on a regular basis,” said Miller. “Having an open door policy at the county executive’s office and letting people know that we care and that we want to work with them, that we want to come up with solutions."

So far, candidates also include Chemung County Sheriff Christopher Moss and Deputy County Executive Michael Krusen.
