I hope you got out to enjoy Friday’s sunshine, that may end up being the last mostly sunny day we see for a long time, maybe even through next week.

Saturday morning's showers will likely begin before sunrise for much of eastern and coastal regions. The rain will be moving to the north or northeast. Those showers should end my mid to late morning around Wilmington and Jacksonville and by midday along the Outer Banks.

The a break in the action as very little if any rain is expected for most of Saturday afternoon.

Spotty showers return Saturday night and Sunday. However, the heaviest and widespread rain may stay in the western half of the state during that time. That rain will then move across eastern North Carolina late Sunday night into Monday.

Most of eastern North Carolina should see around one to two inches of rain from Saturday through Monday.

This weekend's rain will also come with warmer temperatures. Highs will warm to near 70 in Wilmington on Saturday. Sunday could be one of the warmest days so far this year with afternoon temperatures in the mid 70s.
