AUSTIN, Texas - You don’t need to be in New Orleans to enjoy rich food and have a great time celebrating Fat Tuesday. Below are just some of the events you can enjoy in and around Austin:

Grocery Pup’s Mari Paws Dog Parade and Fundraiser

Come on out Saturday, Feb. 10 from 2 - 6 p.m. and enjoy a dog parade, live music and a DJ. All proceeds go to benefit Austin Dog Rescue and Cutie PITooties Pitbull Rescue. The parade takes place at Lustre Pearl East, 114 Linden St. in Austin.

Crawfish Boil at Little Woodrow’s! (Southpark Meadows)

It’s the first boil of the season and features adult beverages and live music. Come out to Little Woodrow’s Southpark Meadows, located at 9500 S IH 35 Frontage Rd. #100 in Austin, from 2 - 10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10. Enjoy all-you-can-eat crawfish for $24.

Fat Tuesday at Whisler’s

Whisler’s is partnering with Louisiana Wild for a crawfish boil. Doors open on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 3 p.m. with no cover. Crawfish will be served by the pound at market price. You can also enjoy the Interroband Brass Band from 7 - 10 p.m. Whisler’s is located at 1816 E. 6th St. in Austin.

Austin’s 41st Carnaval Brasileiro

The world’s premiere Brazilian Mardi Gras party outside of Brazil returns on Saturday, Feb. 10. The event takes place from 8 - 11 p.m. at the Palmer Events Center, 900 Barton Springs Rd. in Austin. Founded in the 1970s, the party attracts people from all around the county. Attendees are encouraged to wear a costume of their own conception.
