Now that the snow has let up in the Southern Tier, people are getting a chance to dig out from the storm.

Many schools and businesses were closed Wednesday across the area, as the winter weather created slippery roads and tough driving conditions. But there was still plenty of work to be done at home.

Families were spending time cleaning up their driveways and shoveling out from all the snow. Some people hadto dig out more than once because it was hard to keep up with.

"The plows have been out quite a bit so we had to work a little harder at the end of the driveway and this is the second time we've been out today, so it's keeping us busy," said Vestal resident, Kerry Zostant.

People in the Southern Tier may not be in the clear just yet, more snow is in the forecast for later this week.
