The Lovejoy Village Community Task Force met with law enforcement officials Tuesday night to discuss the problems they see in their neighborhood.

Some issues mentioned were drug overdoses, crime and traffic violations.

Police agencies were then able to answer questions or point people in the right direction.

Organizers say the relationship is helping the neighborhood improve and thrive.

Pastor Al Robinson, a senior pastor at Spirit of Truth Urban Ministry, plans to get other Buffalo neighborhoods to hold Community Task Force meetings as well.

"We've halved our overdose rate, crimes are honestly quickly handled. It's just fantastic because we have a network of people that get together and they funnel information and that information goes right to the officers. We wanna make Lovejoy the most resurgent and fastest growing area in Buffalo," he said.
