NEW YORK - Jury selection begins Monday in the murder trial of a Manhattan nanny accused of killing the two children in her care nearly six years ago.

Investigators say Yoselyn Ortega stabbed herself in the neck after killing six-year-old LuLu Krim and her two-year-old brother Leo in the bathroom of their family's home on the Upper West Side.

Her trial was delayed over questions about her mental state.

But a judge found her fit to stand trial several years ago.

Prosecutors hope to prove Ortega was coherent and made a conscious decision to kill the children.

Ortega faces life behind bars if convicted.
