UTICA, N.Y. — Some businesses in the Mohawk Valley have seen a boost with the return of the AHL All-Star Classic.

The events kicked off Friday, ending with the AHL All-Star Challenge on Monday night.

Staff at the Utica Roasting Company said they've had about 25 percent more customers than usual this past weekend.

Babe's Macaroni Grill and Bar staff also said it was a very busy weekend.

However, officials at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Utica said they haven't seen much of an impact, and believe it may be because Turning Stone presented the event.

"Maybe not as many reservations as we were hoping. We know that a lot of the visiting all-star players and teams did end up staying at the Turning Stone Casino. I think they're the host venue for the event so we'd love to be considered for that as the newest downtown hotel if it does come back," said Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Utica General Manager Lee Arthur.

This is the second time in three years that Utica has hosted the event.
