WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Icy roads were a big headache for drivers again on Friday thanks to this week's snowfall.

Wayne's Towing in Wilmington says they responded to 150 calls for assistance Thursday alone. That's 50 more calls than an average day.

Throughout Friday, drivers struggled to make it through many of the major intersections in Wilmington.

Market Street and North 23rd were just a few of the slickest spots.

"We're seeing a lot of cars in the ditches, overturned cars, cars in the cables, people sliding off the roads and having to wench them back on the roads," said Wayne's Towing Wayne Peters.

Wilmington police say they have extra crews out on the roads patrolling to keep folks safe if they decide to venture out.
