SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- In an effort to keep the region's homeless population warm, the Syracuse Rescue Mission is working around the clock to bring people inside.

Homeless street intervention teams will be looking for those in need and offering hot meals and fresh winter clothes.

With sub-zero temperatures and wind chills well into the double digits, the mission expects to surpass its capacity. Officials are urging the public to call 211 to make them aware of anyone that may need their help.

The Rescue Mission also says it is in need of donations from the community.
