A pit bull has been rescued on Staten Island after video had surfaced online allegedly showing her owner beating her.

Mia is seen above with her rescuer, Michael Favor, the founder of Pitbulls and Addicts, a group that connects people recovering from drug addiction with rescue dogs.

Favor told NY1 on Sunday that he went to the owner's New Dorp house to rescue the dog, after he saw the video posted on Facebook.

That owner, identified by police as Mark Katchusky, 42, has been arrested and charged with torturing, injuring, and failing to feed an animal.

According to Favor, a veterinarian has treated Mia. Favor is working with authorities and other rescue groups to find her a new home, once she is released.

It appears the video has been taken down.
