High pressure will move into the area for Christmas and give us dry and cold conditions. The mountains will see an inch or two of snow up in ski country.

Cold air in place will set the stage for a significant winter storm to arrive Thursday into Friday. Snow, sleet, freezing rain and some rain will push in from the south late Thursday.

As the moisture overruns the cold air we will see the potential for ice accumulation. The storm should be gone by Friday night depending on track and intensity.
