AUSTIN, Texas — 'Tis the season of giving, but it's also the season of remembrance.

This weekend, volunteers will lay wreaths on veterans' graves nationwide for National Wreaths Across America Day.

Each December, thousands of wreaths are escorted from Columbia Falls, Maine, to Arlington National Cemetery for National Wreaths Across America Day.

Wreaths Across America was founded to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery begun by Maine businessman Morrill Worcester in 1992.
