The local activist committee --Transportation Alternatives-- is bringing back their campaign called "Friday Night Lights"

It highlights the need to make improvements to what they say is a dangerous intersection in Bed-Stuy.

Activists from the group claim the way Atlantic and Nostrand Avenue now intersect helps lead to more accidents because it's mostly geared towards cars, instead of being accesible to pedestrians and bikers as well.

One activist  NY1 spoke with says "the propensity for crashes are very very high because this street is not made for people, even though you see all these people walking around. You can tell that the street's priority is for the cars."

Organizers are asking residents to sign their petition which they plan to send to Brooklyn Community Boards, calling for officials to add safety improvements and protected bike lanes.
