The Department of Education and glasses company Warby Parker announced in Ditmas Park Tuesday the expansion of their vision partnership. The program will now provide free vision screenings, eye exams, and glasses to students at all 227 community schools throughout the city. Students can pick out their own frames from a selection created specifically for the program.

"It's an amazing moment when a child puts on a pair of glasses for the first time. Suddenly their world changes and you see it in their face. They have this grin that goes ear to ear and their face just lights up," said Neil Blumenthal Warby Parker co-founder.

Since launching in 2015 more than 20,000 pairs of free glasses have been distributed.
