POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli visited Poughkeepsie on Tuesday to spread the word about a program designed to help people with disabilities.

The New York ABLE program stands for "Achieving a Better Life Experience." It allows those with disabilities to save for qualified disability expenses without the risk of losing their benefits from assistance programs like Social Security and Medicaid.

Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro hosted the event. He said the NY ABLE Program fits right in with his Think Differently Initiative, which encourages people in the community to change the way they relate to individuals with special needs.
