Northern Brooklyn comes together to care for their neighbors in need this Thanksgiving.

The non-profit, Tent Ministries, hosted their annual Thanksgiving celebration for the Bushwick community.

Volunteers, community members and small business owners spent the chilly morning preparing a hot meal for more than 600 people.

They also donated warm clothing and shoes to those in need.

"Before we start our own Thanksgiving, we all decided, why not come to the streets and make a big pot luck for those who are not going to have a Thanksgiving meal," said Jason Ayala/Executive Director, Tent Ministries.

Families from Puerto Rico displaced by Hurricane Maria were among those in attendance.
