CHARLOTTE -- Long-time Charlotte radio personality Robert D. Raiford has died.

Raiford spent decades on the "John Boy and Billy Big Show," but retired in 2015 after a stroke.

He was 89 years old.

Funeral arrangements have not been released.

Radio station 99.7 The Fox released the following statement:

"It is with a heavy heart that we tell you our very own Robert Raiford has passed. He was 89. 

Raiford spent so many years with us at 99.7 The Fox and we are completely heartbroken over this news. 

We will come out with more information and a statement when we've had time to process this tremendous loss, but just know that Raiford's entire family are in our hearts at this difficult time.
