New York cares has your back, launching its annual coat drive today at the Bowery Mission.

Organizers of the 29th annual drive hope to collect and distribute 125,000 coats this season. The act of kindness does not go un-noticed by the neediest New Yorkers.

"It's getting really brisk out there," said one. "So it's a beautiful thing you guys come down here and do this coat drive. You know, without it. I wouldn't have a coat right now."

"A lot of us had nothing, so to walk in here and have an assortment of coats that fit us, is a wonderful thing," said another.

New or gently used coats can be donated at hundreds of locations including police precincts, Penn Station, and Grand Central Terminal.
