AUSTIN, Texas – The community continues to be on the lookout as an Austin Independent School District elementary school student remains missing.

Aside from police, the Texas Child Protective Services is now involved.

There’s nothing scarier for a parent to learn that their child is missing, especially at school where they are supposed to be the safest.

Angelia Jordan was last seen at Oak Hill Elementary School Tuesday afternoon. Investigators with the school district believes the person who took her was a family member.

Angelia is 10 years old, about 5 feet tall and weighs 60 pounds. She was wearing a pink shirt, black pants and white shoes when she disappeared. AISD police said a 2002 green or gray Ford van, with license plates BSD 3195, picked her up.

AISD didn't specify if they believe Jordan is in danger, a factor that warrants issuing an Amber alert. Law enforcement also didn’t call for it because the student was taken by a relative.

Despite the incident, the school district said they're not increasing security at the school because they believe it's an "isolated custodial" incident. They won't specify which family member took the girl.

If you have seen Angelia or the vehicle described, call Austin ISD police at 512-414-1703.
