"Hamilton" creator Lin-Manuel Miranda is set to take the play to Puerto Rico in 2019.

The Tony Award-winning show will play at Teatro UPR for three weeks in January 2019, starring Miranda himself returning in the role of Alexander Hamilton.

But first, the theater at the University of Puerto Rico's main campus will have to undergo repairs after damage caused by Hurricane Maria.

"In the aftermath of Maria, we decided to expedite the announcement of the project to send a bold message that Puerto Rico will recover and be back in business, stronger than ever," Miranda said about the announcement.
