The city is increasing its crackdown on "E-Bikes" those motorized two-wheelers you see food delivery workers zipping around on.

Mayor Bill de Blasio says those bikes are dangerous and illegal.

Hundreds are confiscated each year, and their riders fined but de Blasio says more needs to be done.

The NYPD has confiscated 920 E-Bikes this year, more than three times the number taken off the streets this time last year.

But starting in 2018 — the businesses that use the bikes to deliver their food will also be targeted.

"So NYPD was already adjusting its enforcement, but we were missing the part about the employers in fact," the mayor said. "Because let's face it, the operators of the bikes clearly are part of the problem, especially if they drive recklessly, but they're doing all of that at the behest of their employers."

Currently E-bike riders are fined up to $500.

Next year, the businesses that allow the cycles will face a $100 fine for the first offense, and then 200 dollars for each additional incident.
