A private school on the Upper West Side is teaming up with some big stars to help Puerto Rico.

Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School on 93rd street near Central Park West is collecting supplies for victims of Hurricane Maria.

A parent with two kids at the school and family still living on the island started the drive.

They're collecting much needed essentials like batteries, diapers and baby formula.

The supplies will eventually make their way to JFK airport Friday, where rappers Jay-Z and Fat Joe have chartered planes to fly them to the island.

The parent who organized this says she is thrilled so many people chipped in.

"I am more than grateful. I cannot thank enough the community and all the parents from Columbia Grammar and how amazing they've been. It's touched my heart deeply and they know they can count on me as I counted on them to help our people," said the supply drive organizer.

Students also set up lemonade stands to help raise money to buy supplies.
