NEW YORK - Police say a workplace dispute led to a murder-suicide at a Manhattan construction site Thursday morning.

It happened shortly after 7 a.m. at a building under construction at 645 West 59th Street.

Police say the victim, who sources have identified as Christopher Sayer, 37, was a foreman at the high-rise construction site.

He was shot by the suspect, identifed by sources as Samuel Perry, 44.

Investigators say the suspect, who was laid off two days ago, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on the fifth floor.

A 9-mm semi-automatic gun was recovered at the scene.

Police say the 44-year-old suspect had prior arrests for burglary and assault.

An investigation is ongoing.
