NEW YORK - Drone flights will soon be banned around the Statue of Liberty.
The Federal Aviation Administration says starting on October 5 drones will not be permitted to fly within 400 feet of the landmark.
Nine other national sites are also included in the ban.
They include Mount Rushmore, the Hoover Dam, and Philadelphia's Independence National Historical Park.
The FAA says violators may face civil penalties and criminal charges.
