The Mayor's Office joins Catholic Charities for a day of service, to help New Yorkers affected by President Trump's decision to end a program for undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children.

They held clinics citywide about the importance of supporting the 30,000 DACA recipients who live in the five boroughs.

Officials emphasized that city services are available to all New Yorkers regardless of their immigration status.

Officials at Catholic Charities say it is important to remind Dreamers they have support throughout the city.

"We stand with them," said Msgr. Kevin Sullivan. "And we're providing them with the opportunity to take advantage of whatever they can take advantage, especially in the next few weeks. To renew their applications, to make sure they are able to stay here longer and to say that we stand with them."

Mayor Bill de Blasio committed $30 million towards immigration services, some of which go towards legal services to help Dreamers. Any DACA participants who need to renew their applications between now and October 5 can call 311 and say "Action NYC" to be connected to legal services.
