A decision on the status of hundreds of thousands of young immigrants in the United States under the DACA program will come Tuesday, the White House said.

President Donald Trump will announce what he intends to do with the DACA, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, program created under the Obama administration.

Under the program, almost 800,000 children who were brought into the U.S. illegally have been allowed to stay and granted temporary work permits.

“We love the DREAMERs. We love everybody…. We think the DREAMERs are terrific," Trump said from the Oval Office on Friday, using another term for the young immigrants.

Meanwhile, Trump will be back in Texas this weekend.

In a tweet Friday morning, the president praised Texas' volunteers and emergency responders, saying he'll return Saturday. He was in Corpus Christi and Austin on Tuesday.

Vice President Mike Pence says Trump will visit Houston this time.

Information from the Associated Press was used in this report.
