Bronx residents looking to get a city ID card have a new place to sign up.

The Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs held a pop-up IDNYC enrollment event at the Parkchester Library today.

It will now serve as a permanent location to register for the program.

All city residents are eligible, but the cards are particularly useful to New Yorkers who lack other forms of identification.

"A program like this can be helpful to people who sometimes because of fear or because they really need an ID, stay behind the scenes, stay in the dark, or are sort of like a community that doesn't come out," said Assemblyman Luis Sepulveda.

Today's event is especially focused on growing populations of Bangladeshi and West African immigrants in the Bronx.

More than a million people have signed up for an ID card as of June this year.
