Mayor Bill de Blasio will soon go head-to-head with fellow Democrats challenging his re-election.
The mayor, in twp tweets Thursday morning, said he will take the debate stage before next month's primary vote.
Looking forward to a primary debate. We're committed to CFB process, but people deserve to hear from us no matter what about vision for NYC.

Regardless of CFB requirements, I'll be on a debate stage before the Sept 12th primary.

Earlier this week on "Mondays with the Mayor" on NY1, de Blasio said he would not commit to a primary debate unless the campaign finance rules forced him to.
The rules say a debate is required if another candidate raises and spends at least $175,000.
The mayor's main challenger is former City Councilman Sal Albanese, but he does not meet that threshold at this time.
