NEW YORK - Police are looking for a man they say pushed a woman onto subway tracks in Manhattan unprovoked Tuesday night.

Investigators say around 9 p.m. the man approached the 49-year-old from behind at the 2nd Avenue stop on the F line and pushed her.

They say he walked out of the station, while the woman was helped back onto the platform by good samaritans.

No trains were in the station or approaching at the time.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital and treated for a cut on her head.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
