Police identify the man they say was killed after he crashed his car into a tow truck on the Cross Bronx Expressway early Saturday morning.

Police said Leonel Paulino, 45, was driving a Toyota Camry on the expressway in Unionport around 1:56 a.m.

The Bronx resident crashed into the back of the truck's flatbed and died at the scene, according to officials.

A 27-year-old woman rode in the back seat, the city police department said. She was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

Police believe speeding may have been a factor in the crash.
