A festival celebrating Taiwanese culture is blooming in Flushing.

More than three hundred orchids are on display at the annual festival held at the Queens Botanical Garden.

Throughout the weekend, an artist will be painting watercolor portraits of the flowers.

There will also be orchid-themed arts and crafts for visitors.

"What they can take away is that through my eyes and the brush works, they would get to experience the orchids in a different way," said Che Min Hsiao, a painter.

"You're either feeling some sort of nostalgia because maybe you're from Taiwan or your relatives are from Taiwan or if you're not, it's a new way to be introduced to a culture," said Stephanie Ehrlich, the Director of Development at the Queens Botanical Garden.

There is a fee to get into the garden.
