The Office of the Inspector General released a scathing report on the September 11th Victims Compensation Fund.

During a five-year study, the office found the fund did not keep supporting documents for some claims, including proof establishing presence at the World Trade Center.

The fund also did not release full compensation for some expedited claims for deceased claimants and their dependents.

There are also concerns that claimants' personal information was sent through unencrypted emails.

The Victims Compensation Fund released a statement saying it recognizes the inspector general's audit and have undergone many changes since the review was completed in 2016.
