An online petition has been launched, pushing for an EMT who died on the job in the Bronx in March to be posthumously promoted to lieutenant.

Thousands are throwing their support behind the effort to honor Yadira Arroyo.

The 44-year-old died March 16 while she responded to a 911 call.

Police said Jose Gonzalez, 25, stole Arroyo's ambulance that day and ran her over. He is being charged with murder and robbery.

Arroyo was a 14-year veteran of the FDNY, and had five children.

Petition organizers said it will be sent to Mayor Bill de Blasio and Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro

NY1 is waiting for comment from the FDNY.
