Citi Bike sets record with 70,000 rides in a single day

Citi Bike pedaled its way to a new record this week.

The program recorded more than 70,000 rides on Wednesday.

It says it is the first time that's ever been done in North America.

Citi Bike launched back in May 2013 and is the nation's largest bike-share program.

The program has 10,000 bikes and 600 stations across Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens, with plans to expand to the Bronx and Staten Island.
