We have a follow up on the Pre-K problems being faced by a mother in West Brighton.

On Saturday we exclusively brought you the story of Holly Bonner, who is blind.  She says the city assigned her 4 year old daughter to a Pre-K program that's difficult to get to from their Bement Avenue home.  It would require her to walk 16 blocks, and take an MTA bus. A trip that would take at least four hours to complete with her guide dog.

The Department of Education said the best they could do was put her on a wait-list for a closer school.

Meanwhile on Monday, NY1's Errol Louis asked the Mayor about Bonner's case after our story aired.

Mayor DeBlasio said that if someone has a special need, the city would go out of its way to accomodate them.

The next day, Bonner got a phone call from an employee with the DOE.

"I know if they don't have a seat they can't magically create one but I'm hoping that after speaking with him he'll do his best. We still do have some hope and a little bit of time before the beginning of school starts," said Bonner.

Bonner tells us she hopes her struggle will help other families facing similar situations.
