A tortoise is back safe in the city after being stolen from his home in Queens.

Police say 17-year-old Millennium was recovered in Connecticut around 8:30 p.m. Monday.

They say someone purchased the 95-pound African spurt, and that person contacted authorities.

The tortoise will be returned to Alley Pond Environmental Center.

Millennium was swiped from the Douglaston Center last week.

Shelter officials say the fence of his enclosure was cut open, but they think he was pushed over the fence by the alleged thieves.

Millennium is considered one of the center's most prized animals.

Police have not arrested or charged anyone yet.
