The main stretch of the old Kosciuszko  Bridge is coming down.

The 125-foot piece will be brought down with steel cables onto two barges in the Newtown Creek.

The whole process is expected to wrap up Tuesday afternoon.

The operation is part of an $873 million investment to replace the 78-year-old bridge with two new state-of-the-art spans.

The first part became open to traffic in April.

The next span is expected to be completed in 2020.
