The grandparents of a 3-year-old boy who died last December have been arrested and charged in connection with his death.

The NYPD says 42-year-old Sita Parsad-Moore faces charges of manslaughter, reckless endangerment and acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17. They say 40-year-old Vincent Moore faces charges of reckless endangerment and acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17.

Romeo Lewis was found with bruising and trauma on his body the night of July 28, 2016.

Police say he also suffered from internal bleeding in the brain.

Romeo died on December 22, 2016 at Long Island Jewish Hospital.

His death was declared a homicide last month.

The boy lived with his mother and grandparents in Richmond Hill.

Romeo's younger siblings were removed by the ACS after his death.
