Dozens of female athletes show off what it means to "throw like a girl."

The New York Mets along with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, held an all girls softball clinic Saturday.

Girls from local Softball Little Leagues worked out with members from the team's staff.

All participants took part in base running, hitting, fielding and pitching drills.

Organizers say it is important to hold an event just for the ladies.

"We do youth clinics for both boys and girls but it is really nice to kind of be a part of a baseball event with little women taking part in it, because I think that is something pretty rare these days and pretty special," said Kathy Blank, Spokesperson, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

"Its kind of cool because everyone is doing the same stuff as you are so you get to learn off of other people," said Ryligh Falvey.

Mets' catcher Rene Rivera gave the girls some pointers on defense during Saturday's clinic.
