With temperatures expected to soar into the 90s in the city later this week, Con Edison is giving tips on how to beat the heat and save some money.
The utility advises buying air conditioners with an Energy Star logo and running the unit at the highest comfortable temperature.
Each degree you lower the temperature means six percent more money on your bill.
Keep doors closed while running your A/C to keep cool air in.
Also, make sure to keep the filters clean, and to turn off AC units, lights, and other appliances when you are not home.
