Bad news for riders of the R train in Brooklyn as the Prospect Avenue station is now shut down for six months of construction.

Trains are not stopping in either directions while the work is underway.

In the meantime, the MTA advises straphangers to use nearby stations via the B37 and B63 buses.

The upgrades will include new subway entrances and platforms, along with digital screens showing real-time service updates.

It's part of a $72 million effort to overhaul three stations along 4th Avenue.

The 53rd Street and Bay Ridge stations closed earlier this year.
