A fire at a restaurant at a JFK Airport terminal Thursday afternoon forced travelers to evacuate the immediate area, officials said.

Crews extinguished a grease fire at the Panda Express restaurant at Terminal 4 in about 10 minutes, according to officials. However, Port Authority officials said the blaze has left the surrounding area smoky.

Officials said only the area around the restaurant was evacuated, not the full terminal.

Port Authority police said no injuries have been reported.

Airport officials said Delta Air Lines flights may experience residual delays.

The terminal's security checkpoint and departure level are closed.
