NEW YORK - Metro-North riders should expect a normal morning commute after a fire under a railroad bridge in Harlem.

A garbage truck caught fire under the tracks at 119th Street and Park Avenue around 11:30 p.m.

Power was cut off to the tracks while firefighters put out the flames.

A series of what appeared to be sparks were also seen coming from the truck, though it's not yet clear what caused them.

Local residents say the fire brought back memories of the deadly Harlem gas explosion in 2014.

"You're like it's go time, I gotta get outta here. Nobody's trying to die from smoke inhalation, nobody's trying to get their windows exploded on them, glass in their neck and bleeding out. It's scary. The first thing we did was we put on our clothes, and we were gonna run to Lexington Avenue," said one resident.

Once the fire was out, Metro North says the tracks were powered up and trains started running again.

The railroad says the bridge doesn't appear to have suffered any structural damage.
