A vote on a Senate Republican health care bill to replace the Affordable Care Act has been postponed.

This as Republican leaders have struggled to get enough support for the bill.

A vote was scheduled to take place before the July 4 recess.

Some leaders expressed concerns it would force too many people off of insurance rolls.

A report from the Congressional Budget Office released Monday found the bill would leave 22 million more people uncovered by 2026.

The Tax Policy Center says it would give millionaires an average tax cut of $52,000 a year.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says a health care overhaul could take some time.

"It's a very complicated subject," McConnell said. "I remember how challenging it was for the Democrats when they were enacting this in 2009 and 2010. Big, complicated subject, we got a lot of discussions going on and we're still optimistic we're gonna get there."

Following the vote postponement, Senators met with President Trump at the White House.

A White House official says the President's goal for the bill is to increase coverage options and lower premiums.

A vote on the health care bill is now expected sometime next month.
