NEW YORK - "Julius Caesar" bowed out of the Public Theater in dramatic fashion Sunday.

A man, identified as Jovanni Valle, 26, of Brooklyn stormed the stage during the final performance of the Shakespeare play in Central Park.

He could be heard shouting, "Liberal hate kills! Liberal hate kills! Goebbels would be proud!"

About a half hour later, Salvatore Cipolla, 28, also jumped the stage in protest.

Both were arrested and charged with criminal trespass.

Friday night's performance was also interrupted, by right wing activist Laura Loomer.

She was arrested and charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.

This modern rendition of "Julius Caesar" stirred controversy because Caesar was presented with close similarities to President Donald Trump.

The character meets a bloody end when he is brutally stabbed.

Bank of America and Delta pulled their sponsorships of the show.

But the Public Theater pushed back, saying the message of the play is how violence threatens democracy.
