It was a homecoming of sorts for Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders on Tuesday.

The Brooklyn native delivered the keynote address during Brooklyn College's commencement ceremony at Barclays Center.

During his speech, Sanders touched on several issues that made him a crowd favorite on the campaign trail including income inequality and free college tuition.

He also took a few swipes at the current administration.

"They are throwing people off of health care making it harder for kids to go to college. They have the hutzpah to provide $300 billion in tax breaks to the top one percent," Sanders said.

Sanders attended the school for one year before transffering to the University of Chicago.

He's been popular on college campuses after his 2016 run for president on a progressive platform, which included a pledge to make public colleges and universities tuition-free.
