Gloomy weather did not stop hundreds from attending the Kings County Memorial Day Parade.

Crowds honored military personnel in the 150th parade in Brooklyn.

The march kicked off Monday morning at 76th and 3rd avenue in Bay Ridge.

Several hundred people braved the weather.

Organizers say there is plenty of interest from various groups in the festivities.

Attendants spoke to us about why they are taking part.

"They're patriotic and they love this country. And that's why we're here and all my volunteers are here.

You know, I just wish that more people would come out to see it but it's Memorial Day weekend, people go away.//

I'm watching for all the soldiers who didn't come home and all the soldiers who died in Vietnam, my friends.

That's who I'm watching for because they can't march today."

The parade dates back to when Brooklyn was the third-largest city in the nation.

It's the longest continuous Memorial Day Parade held in the country.
