The FDNY and New Jersey State Police face off on the ice to help the family of a Bronx EMT killed in the line of duty.

They played a charity hockey game at the Aviator Sports and Recreation Center in Marine Park to raise money for Yadira Arroyo's five sons.

Two of them attended the game and got personalized hockey jerseys.

Arroyo's son Kenneth says the family is still coming to terms with her death, but events like this help ease the pain.

"It makes me feel good, to know that everybody cares," Arroyo said. "And now that I'm, well not yet but I will soon be part of the FDNY family, everybody's welcoming me at an early stage, it feels good you know?  Ever since they started doing these events and stuff, it brings our minds away from the fact that she's gone."

The 44-year-old died while responding to a call in Soundview in March.

Police say 25-year-old Jose Gonzalez stole her ambulance and ran her over.

He is being charged with murder and robbery.

His lawyers say he has a history of mental illness.
